Change comes in waves.
The story begins in Pāvilosta, a tiny surf town on the Latvian west coast, where the Baltic waves stay playful and the feeling is huge. It is a place of wind, salt, and the quiet stoke of people who paddle out every time.
First there was one T‑shirt, painted by my friend’s kid. That little artwork stayed in my head. Two days later I ordered ten blank shirts, found a mix of used paints in different colors in town, and turned them into my first tiny collection. Surfboards, sunsets, mountains, small dreams on cotton.
My paintings live in that space between sea and mountains. Some show the wish to sit at sunset with someone you love, to feel the last light on your skin and just be there together. Others are snowy peaks and snowboards under a burning sky, or playful creatures like crocodiles. Many pieces are custom, made for one person and one story, so the fabric becomes a memory you can wear.
That first summer. Outside, on the other side of the street, my Suzuki VanVan stood like a little moving gallery, covered in T‑shirts. In under two hours, they were gone. I kept running across the road, talking to people, sharing the stories behind each print. Some still say they wish they had bought back then.
Today Sun sets west is my way to shape a life around freedom, simplicity, emotion, love. I follow my hobbies — surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding — and paint the feeling of waves, sunsets and mountains, and the wish to share them with someone. Next adventure that will become a line, a color, a print on a T‑shirt, hat, tote bag or whatever comes next.
